OUR STORY
Our Story is still being written.
Heritage Grown
Nestled in the high country of New England, Australia, Taylors Run has been shaped by six generations of the Taylor family.
Our story is one of evolution from pioneering graziers to regenerative innovators.
A LIVING LEGACY
Since 1939
The story of Taylors Run begins in 1839, when Scottish immigrant William Tydd Taylor and his wife Margaretta Lucy settled on the New England Tablelands, and planted humble beginnings - just 1,000 sheep - in a rugged, sweeping landscape.
Since then, for more than 185 years, our family has remained rooted in these hills, evolving into one of the world’s most respected growers of Ultrafine Merino - yet never losing sight of our original pledge: to care for country, family, heritage and future in equal measure.
Now, with over 22,000 Merino sheep across 6 Taylor family farms, grazing the rich pastures of our tablelands, every fleece, every tree, every acre speaks of respect — for land, climate, and coming generations.
TODAY
A Resilient Farm & Ecosystem.
Today Taylors Run is more than a farm — it’s a living ecosystem where wool, cattle, and trees coexist in harmony.
Our Ultrafine Merino flocks graze among sheltering woodlands planted to regenerate soil, protect wildlife, and retain water.
Each year we measure our progress through Natural Capital Accounting - tracking soil carbon, biodiversity, and vegetation health to ensure we are truly giving back more than we take.
OUR PRACTICE
Farming Differently
With quiet conviction - not just producing wool, timber or beef - but regenerating land, preserving bloodlines and nurturing biodiversity.
Our Natural Resources
Ultrafine Merino Wool - Clean, bright, next-to-skin comfort for those who value quality.
Timber - Sustainably grown pine and native plantation milled on-site, offering responsible building and landscaping materials.
Livestock - Pure-bred Merino sheep and quality Angus cattle, farmed under regenerative grazing systems on open pasture.
Farm Stays - A simple, honest farm-stay experience for guests to step into the rhythms of the land.
